Shut up if you cannot help solve the land problem in the country, Uhuru tells Raila

President Uhuru Kenyatta has told former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to either help solve the land problem in the country or shut up.

Speaking on Monday in Taita Taveta County when issuing title deeds, President Uhuru said his government will continue to issue title deeds in spite of the sharp criticism from the CORD alliance. He also pointed out that if giving out tittle deeds and consequently resolving the land problem in Kenya was as good as doing what has been termed as a clerical job, he was more than willing to continue doing it until the age-old land problem is fully solved.

“Those who are not ready to serve Kenyans should shut up and allow us to improve the lives of Kenyans,” President Kenyatta said.

The head of state also noted that his Jubilee coalition promised Kenyans to solve all problems relating to land matters and that is exactly what they will do and they will not entertain any distraction from any quarters.

"We are here to fulfill the promise of ensuring Kenyans get title deeds for their land. Our determination to serve all the 40 million Kenyans without discrimination will not be disrupted,” the President told Kwale residents and promised that his government will issue more than 3 million title deeds in the coming five years.

Meanwhile, Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya assured the President and Deputy President Ruto of Kwale leaders’ support, observing that elections are over and what Kenyans need now is excellent services from the government.
