KQ passengers who were stranded in Greece now pushing for compensation

Passengers who were aboard the ill-fated KQ flight that made an emergency landing in Athens, Greece now want to be compensated by the Kenya Airways.

The 301 passengers made these demands shortly after the KQ plane which had developed some problem was repaired and allowed to leave Athens, touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Their original flight, KQ flight 117, was forced to make an emergency landing in Greece after sensors in the cargo hold sent a fire alarm forcing captain Muiruri to divert and land in Athens.

"...we are going to demand from KQ for the kind of treatment we got from them. We are not fighting them but we feel there is need for compensation", said one of the passengers, Rachel Onamu.

Miss Onamu disclosed that they were booked into a hotel for only five hours after the emergency landing after which they stayed out in the cold with no communication from the national carrier.
