Vote recount indicates Kalembe Ndile won the Kibwezi West parliamentary seat

A vote recount that was ordered by a machakos high court has pointed to the possibility of Mr. Patrick Musimba, the sitting Kibwezi West mp, becoming the first member of parliament to lose his his seat after the 4th March general elections.

This follows the results of the recount which indicated that Kalembe Ndile, a former member of parliament of Kibwezi constituency, beat Mr.Musimba by 118 votes. Mr. Musimba who vied as an independent candidate, had earlier on objected the recount arguing that more than 400 votes could not be traced. The court ordered the lawyers from both parties to make their final submission before the judge delivers his final ruling.

The ruling will see either Kalembe Ndile declared the Kibwezi West parliamentary seat winner or order a by election.
