The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights led by its acting national chairperson Anne Kyalo has joined hands with those calling on the jubilee government to hear the teachers demands and pay them their allowances.
The commission observed that it would be wise for the government to shelve its laptop project for now and use that cash to pay the teachers who have been striking for the second week now.
On wednsday, Knut's national chairman, Mr. Sossion, said that their talks with the govrnment hit a deadlock and called on the teachers to stay put until the kenyatta's government heed to their demands. The KNCHR fully supports this move saying teachers have been underpaid for a long time despite the fact that they do a lot of work.
"Teachers remains among the most poorly remunerated professionals in this country therefore undermining their right to a decent livelihood" said Anne Kyalo, the acting KNCHR's national chairperson.
