Public primary schools closed indefinately
The government has closed all primary schools indefinitely.
This is after the teachers led by their union officials remained defiant to an industrial court order that required them to resume duty.
Members of the Kenya National Union of Teachers have been on strike for three weeks.
Meanwhile, the government has moved to assure the public and KCPE candidates that measures are already in place to ensure that they will take their exams.
The Education Cabinet Secretary had on Tuesday threatened to sack all striking teachers and hire others to replace them.
