Victor Wanyama set to make history, moves to Southampton on a record Sh1.7bn

Harambee Stars captain Victor Mugubi Wanyama is set to enter into the books of history for becoming the first East African player to play in the prestigious FA premier league.

This is after the Kenyan midfielder on Wednesday 10th July, confirmed that he is ready and has agreed to move to English premier league side Southampton on a Sh1.7 billion deal. The four-year-deal has also set a Scottish transfer record.

Wanyama was expected to fly to England from Germany where his club is having a per-season camp. His visit to England is meant to finalize the deal.

The medical test is set to be done at the Southampton's St. Mary's training grounds after which the club is expected to give financial guarantees to Wanyama and his representatives.

Mr. Chris Osare, the player's local manager, confirmed Wanyama's transfer from Celtic to Southampton saying the deal will be made official any time from now.
