'Help, sheep missing': How Twitter is fighting crime in Kenya
Chief Francis Kariuki of Lanet Umoja, Nakuru North District, commonly referred to as the tweeting chief of Nakuru, flew to the US to make a presentation during the Samsung Galaxy event, thanks to Samsung.

Francis Kariuki has stood out among his colleagues as a tech savvy chief, for his peculiar tweeting practice. He uses his handle, @Chiefkariuki.

Early this month, Chief Kariuki got a new Galaxy Mega courtesy of Samsung.

In most cases, Chief Kariuki tweets messages about crimes in his area of jurisdiction and, at times even beyond. He also uses his twiter handle to inform the public of any government meetings.

According to chief Kariuki's own words, he uses twitter as a tool for community policing, neighborhood watch and crime-reporting activities.
