Security organs in Nairobi are investigating text messages that were sent randomly warning city residents to avoid two major shopping Malls over impending terror attacks.
The messages claimed that there are impending terror attacks targeted at the Prestige and Junction shopping malls in Nairobi. The matter has since been reported to the police.
The police swiftly responded by dispatching security teams to the said malls to investistage the origin of the messages.
According to a private security quard attached to the Prestige Shopping Mall along Ngong' road, a customer came running to them on Saturday with a text message waring people to keep off the targeted shopping complexes.
The message read;
"Terror plot under way at the Prestige and Junction. Keep off." The customer is said to have hurriedly picked up his child and left the mall.
According to The Reporter's survey, security has been beefed up in the two shopping malls.
